The 2025-2026 residency and fellowship applications at SGUB opens November 11,2024.
All applicants should take careful note of the following:
• This website, and all emails received from SGUB team are the only source of official information to be followed.
• Admission to all programs is by competitive selection and meeting the eligibility criteria to apply, a program having a vacant seat does not guarantee selection.
• Our team will not reply to emails regarding individual application status. For avoidance of doubt, all applications submitted before the deadline will be reviewed per our review timeline, and all applications which are eligible are forwarded to the programs for their consideration.
• All applicants will be informed of their application outcome through email by April 2025, the latest.
Registration for the International Foundations of Medicine (IFOM) Exam
Saint George University of Beirut (SGUB) is pleased to announce that registration for the International Foundations of Medicine (IFOM) Exam is now open.
Exam Schedule
• IFOM Basic Science Exam (BSE) - Mandatory
Date: Thursday, February 13, 2025
Location: SGUB Block C - Computer Labs
Note: An additional session will be held on February 19
• IFOM Clinical Science Exam (CSE) - Optional
Date: Tuesday, February 18, 2025
Location: SGUB Block C - Computer Labs
Registration Process
Step 1: Submit Required Information
Applicants must provide the following details:
• Full Name
• Date of Birth
• Email Address
• Proof of payment for the application fee is required to complete the registration process.
Step 2: Complete Payment
• Payments must be made at the Accounting Office in the main SGUB building.
• Students should contact Amanda or Tania for assistance.

IFOM Basic Science Exam (BSE) - Mandatory
• Application Fee: $100 (Non-refundable)
• Test Fee: $100
• Total: $200
IFOM Clinical Science Exam (CSE) - Optional
• Application Fee: $100 (Non-refundable)
• Test Fee: $130
• Total: $230
Registration Deadline
All registrations and payments for the exam must be completed by Thursday, February 13, 2025
SGUB in affiliation with SGHUMC offers 29 medical and surgical residency and fellowship training programs to date including both categorical and preliminary tracks:
• Successful candidates should exhibit strong qualifications for the specialty they wish to pursue;
• In order to be eligible to apply for our residency/ fellowship training programs, applicants should meet the following prerequisites requirements:
A. Certified copy of equivalence of the Medical Diploma from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE);
B. Evidence of the following exams:
IFOM or BSE or USMLESTEP 1 for Residency
IFOM CSE or USMLE STEP 2 for Fellowship
Note:
Applicants registered for qualifying exams (IFOM, USMLE, English Proficiency Exam , or any other pending assessments) shall submit all relevant documents by February 28, 2025 to qualify for interviews.
1. Applicants meeting the eligibility requirements should complete all parts of the application form prior to submission, and attach all required documents, Clinical Exams and English language proficiency examination scores.
2. The complete file should be submitted to SGUB Office of Admissions before January 31st, 2025.
3. Incomplete or overdue applications cannot be considered and processed for selection.
4. Applicants selected for interview are contacted by email following file screening and filtering.
