Academics

The Bachelor of Science program in Nursing prepares students to become competent nurses, armed with scientific knowledge and professional attitudes as well as intellectual and practical skills. Graduates from SGUB’s Nursing Program excel in providing the highest quality of care to individuals of all ages and in various medical contexts.

In partnership with the Faculty of Medicine and with the Nursing Services of Saint George University Hospital Medical Center, the BS in Nursing program incorporates extensive and supervised clinical education in selected and relevant clinical healthcare settings and focuses on simulation in training.  This program includes a theoretical base on the following medical sub-topics: acute and chronic medical / surgical nursing; maternal and newborn health; child and adolescent health; mental health; care of the patient with complex and high dependency health needs; and community health.
The Nursing program is community-based and includes active group learning from real-life situations and simulation activities, the development of reflective practices, and the use of latest research findings in nursing sciences to assure the most relevant, current and appropriate care.
