Job Title: Academic Assistant Reports to: Manager - Dean’s Office/Coordinator of Medical Education
JOB PURPOSE
Assist the faculty members in implementing the team-based learning (TBL) model bridging the gap between students and faculty, enhancing the overall educational experience through dedicated instructional support, administrative assistance, and engagement in professional development activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Team-Based Learning (TBL) Support:
Facilitation: Assist in the organization and facilitation of TBL sessions Assessments: Oversee the daily implementation of Individual Readiness Assurance Test (IRAT) Group Management: Support the formation and management of student team Content Delivery: Aid faculty in delivering content through TBL
Academic Support:
Presentations: Assist in the creation of lectures and presentations, utilizing various multimedia tools Assessment Preparation & Execution: Help develop and correct assessments, including quizzes, tests, and practical exams Grading: Assist in the grading process, ensuring consistency and provide feedback to students on their performance
Administrative Duties:
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, participation, and grades. Resource Management: Ensure that all teaching materials and resources are up-to-date and available Other administrative tasks: Scheduling exams and proctoring, etc..
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
Bachelor's degree from a reputable university.
Fluent in Arabic and English. French is a plus.
Skills:
Strong leadership,
Proficiency in using educational technology and LMS systems and Microsoft office.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
