Saint George University of Beirut proudly hosted a momentous ceremony that celebrated the achievements of dedicated participants who successfully completed the Faculty Development Program in Health Professions Education. This event unfolded during the heartwarming "Christmas for Beirut 2023" celebration and was graced by the esteemed presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Elias Audi, distinguished guests, colleagues, and friends.
President Tarek Mitri, in his opening remarks, set the tone for a celebration of academic excellence and resilience within all the national challenges faced, emphasizing the importance of education as a beacon of hope for the future of Beirut.
Dean Alexandre Nehme in his turn expressed his pride in the accomplishments of the graduates and the Saint George University of Beirut Faculty of Medicine’s commitment to providing quality education. He highlighted the significance of nurturing talent and fostering a spirit of innovation within the academic community.
The event was honored by the presence of his Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Judge Abbas Al-Halabi as an invited speaker. Minister Al-Halabi acknowledged our University’s dedication to maintaining academic standards and fostering specialization, even in the face of challenging circumstances. His insightful words underscored the crucial role of education in rebuilding and revitalizing Beirut.
Dr. Ghewa El Achkar, the lead coordinator of the program, shared her reflections on the journey of the graduates. The event was attended by their excellences, the Vice-president of parliament, Mr. Elias Bou Saab, the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Firas Abiad, and the Minister of Information, Engineer Ziad Al-Makari, all of whom extended heartfelt congratulations for our commitment to excellence and our dedication to constructive endeavors.
Certificates of completion for 29 accomplished participants were distributed at the end of the ceremony. It is not only a celebration of participants’ accomplishments but also a testament to our University’s commitment to advancing education in health professions.
