On May 9th, 2023, we hosted a seminar entitled "Nucleophosmin-1: A Therapeutic Target in Acute Myeloid Leukemia" in the Batlouni Amphitheater at 4:30 PM. The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Hiba El Hajj, a Tenured Associate Professor at the Department of Experimental Pathology, Immunology and Microbiology at the Faculty of Medicine of the American University of Beirut.
Dr. El Hajj's seminar provided attendees with valuable insights into the latest research on acute myeloid leukemia and the role of nucleophosmin-1 as a potential therapeutic target. Her engaging presentation covered the mechanisms of action of this protein in AML and the challenges and opportunities associated with targeting it.
The seminar was well-attended by students, faculty, and researchers from the field of oncology. Attendees had the opportunity to learn from Dr. El Hajj's expertise and ask her questions about her work.
As a Tenured Associate Professor, Dr. El Hajj is a recognized leader in the field of oncology and her presentation was both informative and thought-provoking. The seminar was a success, and attendees left with a better understanding of the potential of targeting nucleophosmin-1 for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia.
