On March 23rd, 2023, we hosted an insightful seminar entitled "Of Yeast and Men: Virulence and Pathogenicity of Candida spp. Fungi". The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Roy Khalaf, an Associate Professor of Biology at the Lebanese American University, known for his extensive research background in microbiology.
Dr. Khalaf provided a comprehensive overview of the virulence mechanisms of Candida spp. Fungi, which he has extensively researched during his career. His research background includes a focus on understanding the virulence mechanisms of fungal pathogens.
The seminar was held at the Batlouni Amphitheater at 4:00 pm and was well-attended by a diverse audience comprising students, faculty, and researchers from the field of microbiology. The event served as an excellent opportunity for attendees to gain insights into the latest research findings on Candida spp. Fungi and their pathogenicity.
